A work team has been sent today to the drought area in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region to evaluate the situation and assist in drought relief work, according to the Ministry of Emergency Management of China.
Since this May, precipitation in some parts of Inner Mongolia has dropped by 10% to 100% that of normal years, and the maximum area affected by drought in the region has reached some 918 thousand hectares.
