China launched four Tianmu-1 weather satellites aboard a Kuaizhou-1A carrier rocket at 11:20 a.m. from Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China on Thursday.
The four satellites, the Tianmu-1 07, 08, 09 and 10 have entered preset orbit, marking a successful mission. The satellites will be used for providing commercial meteorological data services.
The satellites Tianmu-1 01 and 02 were launched on January 9 and the following 03-06 satellites were sent out on March 22. The Tianmu-1 satellite constellation is designed to acquire global atmosphere data for the comprehensive detection of the ocean, atmosphere and ionosphere for all time worldwide.
The mission is the 21st flight of the Kuaizhou-1A carrier rocket.
