Tropical Storm Calvin brought heavy rain to Hawaii's Big Island on Wednesday.
Packing winds of over 72 kilometers per hour, Calvin was nearly 330 kilometers southwest of Hilo on Wednesday morning, according to an update from the National Hurricane Center.
Hawaii Governor Josh Green declared an emergency on Tuesday in anticipation of the storm. He granted administrative leave for all nonessential government employees on the Big Island and warned residents to prepare for mudslides and wind damage.
Calvin is expected to remain a tropical storm for another 24 hours before weakening.
