With a delightful display of "panda personality," a giant panda named Chao Chao has been showing off her rather unusual bamboo feasting habits at a breeding center in southwest China's Sichuan Province.

The young panda, who just celebrated her first birthday, has developed her very own eating ritual, as shown by some recently released footage which was captured on the iPanda platform, that provides round-the-clock livestreams charting the daily lives and activities of the beloved pandas.

Despite her name Chao Chao, which translates as "noisy" in Chinese, the panda seems keen to find a secret and secluded spot to enjoy her bamboo banquet in peace.

After picking up a bamboo shoot in her mouth, the adventurous bear is seen slowly and stealthily climbing up a wooden structure in her enclosure. After struggling for about a minute, the adorable panda finally reaches the summit of the high platform where she could sit back and happily tuck into her feast without being disturbed.

Chao Chao was born on July 14, 2022 at the China Conservation and Research Center for Giant Pandas (CCRCGP) along with her twin sister Nao Nao.

The CCRCGP is a world-leading institution for breeding and conservation of giant pandas, known as one of China's national treasures. It is also famous for its work to conserve other endangered wildlife like the red panda and other rare species.
