At least 16 people died after a landslide, triggered by incessant rains, occurred in the Raigad district of India's western state of Maharashtra late on Wednesday night, Indian Express reported on Thursday, citing local authorities.
The National Disaster Response Force stopped its search and rescue operation on Thursday evening due to continuous heavy rain, the threat of landslides and the darkness.
