The "Northern/Interaction-2023" exercise aligns with the annual cooperation plan between the Chinese and Russian militaries, and is taking place under the theme "Maintaining the Security of Strategic Maritime Channels." The objective is to bolster the strategic coordination between the two militaries, strengthen their joint ability to uphold regional peace and stability, and effectively respond to security challenges, according to China's Ministry of National Defense.

All participating officers and soldiers are committed to giving their utmost to enhance their collective capacity in safeguarding regional peace and stability and effectively addressing diverse security challenges through practical actions, he said.
