Australian translator and writer Linda Jaivin has devoted herself to Chinese arts and culture by working on English translations of ancient Chinese poetry, especially those from the Tang Dynasty. She told CGTN host Tian Wei that Tang poetry itself has deep cultural roots, which should be reflected in each translation. She cites the Tang poets Li Bai and Gao Shi as examples, and shares stories about talented female poets whose feminine sensibilities and strong patriotism have impressed her deeply.
