Straddling Western Asia and Eastern Europe, Azerbaijan couldn't take advantage of its unique location due to a lack of transport infrastructure. In this exclusive interview with CMG's Wang Guan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev says the country looks to upgrade its existing infrastructure through the Belt and Road Initiative to achieve connectivity with neighboring countries. With more trading ports, an expanding fleet of ships, and upgraded railway lines, Azerbaijan's freight volume can be improved and delivery time shortened.
