The 31st International University Sports Federation (FISU) Summer World University Games, known as the Universiade, will open in Chengdu on Friday, with delegations from about 170 countries and regions around the world taking part in the 12-day multi-sports event. Delegations from 30 countries and regions have already moved into the athletes' village since it officially opened on July 22, with another 64 groups of overseas delegations expected to arrive later on Monday as the countdown to the Games continues. The athletes' village is launching a series of cultural exchange activities to provide a platform for the young athletes to enhance their mutual understanding and develop friendships.
