Tony Estanguet, president of the Paris Olympics Organizing Committee, told China Media Group (CMG) that the preparations for the Paris Olympics in 2024 has been going well and he is confident in CMG's ability to report and broadcast the Olympic Games.

"It's amazing that the Summer Olympic Games returned to France after 100 years," Estanguet said in the interview with CMG. "We're now at the Eiffel Tower, one of the key locations for the organizing of the Olympics. The opening ceremony will happen here on the River Seine."

"We will welcome athletes from all over the world in boats. It will be the first time the opening ceremony will happen in the city instead of at the stadium," he added. He revealed that athletes will, in over 100 boats, cross Paris on a 6km rout that passes Notre-Dame de Paris, the Louvre and other historic locations in the French capital.

July 26 will mark the one-year countdown for the Paris Olympics. Estanguet told CMG that the organizing committee will unveil the design of the Olympic torch as well as the countdown timer clock at the event. Moreover, a special event with selected athletes in attendance will happen on the River Seine.

Estanguet also expressed his gratitude for both the Beijing Winter Olympics Organizing Committee and CMG in the interview. "It was important for us, the Paris organizing committee, to go to the Beijing Winter Games to learn how to host the Olympics," he said. "We all know that hosting the Games is a tough challenge."

"China did a great job in hosting the Summer Olympics in 2008 and the Winter Olympics in 2022. So, it's very inspiring for us to view and emulate how China did it, in implementation, improvisation, among other things," he added.

CMG will produce, broadcast video and radio signals for gymnastics, badminton, table tennis and sport climbing at the Paris Olympics. "I have confidence in CMG's performance in producing and broadcasting the four sports," Estanguet said. "We have hundreds of millions of viewers around the world to provide the best video quality and the best broadcasting experience to. We have confidence in our cooperation with CMG. We believe that everything will go well with your professionalism."
