A boat with passengers aboard sank east of Manila on Thursday, reported local media.
The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) was racing against time to rescue more passengers from the capsized vessel where more than 20 people perished, officials said.
It was not immediately clear how many people were on the boat, but disaster official Neil Ferrer told DZRH radio that 40 people
had been rescued and a search is underway for six missing people.
