China says it is pursuing a defensive nuclear strategy, hitting back at NATO's accusations that Beijing is interested in military expansion. In its Vilnius Communique issued earlier in July, NATO also accused Beijing of presenting "systemic challenges." In response, Beijing is urging NATO to abandon its Cold War mentality.
