A Long March-2D carrier rocket carrying three remote sensing satellites blasts off from Xichang Satellite Launch Center, Sichuan Province, southwest China, July 27, 2023. /China Media Group

China launched a remote sensing satellite group from Xichang Satellite Launch Center in southwest China's Sichuan Province on Thursday.

The satellite group, consisting of three remote sensing satellites of the Yaogan-36 family, was launched atop a Long March-2D carrier rocket at 4:02 a.m. Beijing Time. 

The trio has entered the preset orbit.

Thursday's launch was the 480th flight of the Long March carrier rocket family.
