Team China's Li Bingjie, Li Jiaping, Ai Yanhan, and Liu Yaxin took third place in the women's 200mx4 freestyle relay in 7:44.40 at the World Aquatics Championships on Thursday in Fukuoka, Japan.
This was the ninth medal for Chinese swimmers in the event, as well as the 33rd for the Chinese delegation.
Australia took gold and set a new world record in 7:37.50, followed by the U.S. in 7:41.38.
Earlier on Thursday, Qin Haiyang and Dong Zhihao, respectively, reached the men's 200m breaststroke final scheduled to take place on Friday, as Qin eyes his fourth gold this time.
Qin, 24, has won the men's 100m and 50m breaststroke events, during which he broke Asian records five times. He was also a contributing force to China's top finish in the mixed 4x100m medley relay final a day ago.
He is registered in three individual breaststroke events in the 31st FISU World University Summer Games to be held in Chengdu, southwest China's Sichuan Province from July 28 to July 28 to August 8.
Pan Zhanle refreshed the men's 100m freestyle Asian record in 47.43 seconds, narrowly missing the podium by 0.01 second.
Yang Junxun reached the women's 100m freestyle final in 53:67.
