This vibrant city is also renowned as a capital of Sichuan cuisine.

It is known for its diverse flavors, spicy delicacies, and unique hotpot culture. Among them, the most famous is undoubtedly the Sichuan hotpot, which uses a variety of fiery spices and Sichuan peppercorns, providing a delightful combination of delicious ingredients and a tingling sensation for the taste buds.

Additionally, the streets and alleys of Chengdu are dotted with snack stalls offering local treats, like spicy chuan chuan xiang – food items skewered with bamboo sticks and placed in a hot pot, and ci ba – fried glutinous rice cake with brown sugar syrup.
