Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Cheikh Ghazouani in Chengdu, the capital city of southwest China's Sichuan Province, on Friday. China and Mauritania should continue to be good friends supporting each other, good partners seeking common development, and join hands to safeguard the common interests of the two countries and international justice, Xi said during the meeting.
As part of his visit to China, Ghazouani arrived in Chengdu on Friday to attend the opening ceremony of the 31st summer edition of the FISU World University Games.
