Expert: Russia's free grain deals with African nations could extend to Middle East

Russia signed agreements with 17 African nations to cooperate more in food provision, anti-terrorism, security and agriculture at the Russia-Africa summit in Saint Petersburg. Zhang Xin, associate professor at the School of Politics and International Relations at East China Normal University, says that the Russian government's decision to launch free grain is helpful to alleviate the current food crisis in Africa, and a similar plan might be further pledged to some countries in the Middle East, which are under similar pressure.
