Armed forces stationed in east China's Fujian Province, where floods and gales brought by a powerful typhoon trapped residents and damaged facilities on Friday, have rushed to the affected areas to save lives and carry out reconstruction. Preliminary statistics show that as of Friday, the typhoon had affected 725,000 residents in nine cities of Fujian, and 310,600 people have been evacuated.
