Demonstrators attacked the French embassy in Niger's capital Niamey and a door was lit on fire, AP reported on Sunday, citing embassy staff.
Thousands of protesters who supported soldiers that took over Niger in a coup earlier this week gathered outside the embassy on Sunday after Paris suspended aid over the coup, some trying to enter the building, an AFP journalist saw.
