Ukrainian drones attacked Moscow early on Sunday, as stated by the mayor of the Russian capital, Sergei Sobyanin, in a Telegram post.

The Russian Defense Ministry later confirmed the drone attack.

"On the morning of July 30, the Kyiv regime's attempted terrorist attack with unmanned aerial vehicles on objects in the city of Moscow was thwarted," it said on Telegram.

"One Ukrainian UAV was destroyed in the air by air defense systems over the territory of the Odintsovo district of the Moscow region. Two more drones were suppressed by electronic warfare and, having lost control, crashed on the territory of the Moscow-City's non-residential building complex."

One person was injured during the drone attack, as reported by TASS, citing emergency services.

The restrictions on flights within Moscow and the Moscow region were lifted after a temporary halt, according to the emergency services.

TASS also reported that the capital's Vnukovo airport was "closed for departures and arrivals, with flights redirected to other airports." Within less than an hour, operations appeared to have returned to normal.

There has been no response from Ukraine yet.
