Heavy downpours are hitting China's Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region this year, with the northern parts of the country getting battered by heavy rainfall from Typhoon Doksuri. Schools and extracurricular institutions have stopped all outdoor teaching activities in Beijing. In addition, all sightseeing spots and parks have been closed, and live performances have been canceled in the capital to ensure public safety. In the neighboring province, Hebei, the provincial meteorological bureau and water conservancy department have issued an alert for mountain torrents, warning that some cities should expect heavy downpours of 250 to 450 millimeters.
