The 43rd escort task force of the People's Liberation Army Navy anchored in Cape Town, South Africa, on Monday for a four-day visit after successfully completing its mission of visiting five countries in West Africa. The task force was warmly welcomed by South African naval officers, staff from the Chinese embassy in South Africa, as well as local Chinese residents. During their stop, Chinese naval officers toured South Africa's largest naval base at Simon's Town and held discussions over issues like ship navigation safety, situation handling, and maritime safety threats.
