On Saturday, China released the first batch of images sent back by its self-developed remote sensing satellites from the Jilin-1 family launched in June.

Developed by China's commercial satellite maker Chang Guang Satellite Technology Co., Ltd. in northeast China's Jilin Province, the Jilin-1 satellite constellation is the country's first commercial constellation consisting of 138 high-performance optical remote sensing satellites in the first phase, according to the developer.

On June 15, China sent 41 satellites, including the Jilin-1 Gaofen 06A, into orbit atop a Long March-2D carrier rocket, setting a national record for the most satellites lifted in a single launch mission.

These satellites can obtain high-resolution remote sensing images of Earth observation and will provide rich remote sensing data for industries including agriculture, forestry, ocean, resources, environmental protection, urban construction and scientific experiments.

There have been a total of 108 Jilin-1 satellites in orbit so far.
