Tropical storm Khanun weakened into a tropical depression when it made landfall in the coastal region of northeast China's Liaoning Province on Friday night, but strong gales and heavy rain continue to lash the province over the weekend. The province has issued a red alert for geological disasters and also warned of flash floods in some parts of the province on Saturday.
