Authorities have lost hope of finding survivors after a military helicopter crashed into the sea during exercises over the weekend, Australian Defense Minister Richard Marles said Monday.

"The loss of these four men is as significant and meaningful as the loss of anyone who has worn our nation's uniform," he said, as Australia called off the search and rescue operation.
