At least 20 people were killed on Tuesday after a crane collapsed at a construction site in the Indian state of Maharashtra, local media reported, citing the police.
The crane fell on a group of workers at the Samruddhi Expressway in Thane District, the police said, adding that fire brigade personnel and other emergency services are currently engaged in rescue operations.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered his condolences to the families of the deceased and the injured on his social media account.
