Xi sends condolences to Pakistani president over suicide bombing

Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday sent a message of condolences to Pakistani President Arif Alvi over a deadly suicide bombing in northwest Pakistan.

In his message, Xi said he was shocked to learn of the suicide attack in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, which had caused heavy casualties.

On behalf of the Chinese government and the Chinese people, he extended condolences over the deceased and expressed sincere sympathy to the bereaved families and the injured.

In the message, the Chinese president strongly condemned the attack, adding that China opposes all forms of terrorism and is willing to resolutely support Pakistan in its counterterrorism efforts to jointly maintain peace and security in the region and globe.

Chinese Premier Li Qiang also sent a message of condolences to Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on the same day over the attack.
