Triggered by Typhoon Doksuri, torrential rains have battered many areas of northern China, causing water levels to rise in major rivers. The flood control in Haihe River Basin has entered a critical period as 13 rivers, including the mainstream and tributaries of the Yongding River, have exceeded warning levels. The densely populated basin is home to many large- and medium-sized cities, including Beijing, Tianjin and Shijiazhuang. To battle the extreme weather, the Ministry of Water Resources has deployed 10 teams for flood response in Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei and other provinces and cities.
