As the Japanese government's plan to release contaminated water containing radioactive materials from the Fukushima nuclear plant into the sea is about to be implemented, opposition is mounting in Japan. Japanese lawyer Totsuka Etsuro thinks that discharging nuclear-contaminated wastewater into the ocean violates the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.
