The Afghan caretaker government's acting Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, in a meeting with envoys of some countries in Qatar's capital Doha on Wednesday, urged them to open diplomatic missions in Kabul and resume activities, a private television channel, Tolonews, reported.

In the meeting attended by ambassadors and diplomats from Britain, the United States, Spain, the Republic of Korea, the Netherlands, Canada, Australia and Italy, the Afghan top diplomat briefed the participants about the situation on economic, political and security issues, saying the envoys could resume activities in Afghanistan to see the realities on the ground.

Backing the demand, the head of the Afghan administration's political office in Qatar, Suhail Shaheen, contended in the meeting that certain media reports on the situation in Afghanistan are in contrast to the facts in the war-torn country.
