China Media Group (CMG) launched a new bureau in Urumqi, capital of northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, on Thursday.

Ma Xingrui, secretary of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Regional Committee of the Communist Party of China, and Shen Haixiong, vice minister of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and president of CMG, unveiled the plaque for the new bureau.

Today's event marks the beginning of a brand-new chapter in deepening cooperation between CMG and Xinjiang, Shen said, adding that CMG will further leverage its integrated communication advantages, make continuous efforts to promote cultural enrichment in the autonomous region and make new and greater contributions to strengthening the awareness of the Chinese national community. 

Additionally, CMG will further utilize its powerful media resources to support Xinjiang in becoming a gateway to the western region, continuously enhance the global reputation of "Beautiful Xinjiang," jointly compose a brand-new chapter in Xinjiang's high-quality development, he said.

Erkin Tuniyaz, chairman of the People's Government of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, also attended the ceremony and delivered a speech.

On the new journey, the cooperation prospects between Xinjiang and CMG are extremely broad and promising, Tuniyaz said. "We eagerly look forward to CMG making better use of its advantages as the central news media, continuously intensifying efforts to enrich Xinjiang's culture, and telling Xinjiang's stories to the domestic and international audiences in a multi-dimensional and comprehensive manner."

He said this will provide strong value guidance, cultural cohesion, and spiritual impetus for the construction of a united, harmonious, prosperous, and culturally advanced Xinjiang, where people live in contentment, and the environment is well-preserved.
