China will see more heavy rains and hotter weather in certain regions in August, according to the China Meteorological Administration on Thursday.

During a press briefing, the administration said that starting Friday, most regions in southern and northeast China will see precipitation 20-60 percent higher than the same period of previous years in the next ten days. The rainfall in certain areas will double or even triple.

Regions in northwest China will experience enduring heat in the 10 days starting Friday, with temperatures in certain areas reaching over 40 degrees Celsius.

Typhoon Khanun is expected to make a turn from east China's coast towards Japan and weaken during the process.

The entire month of August will bring more rainfall in most regions of the country, and the temperature is forecast to level or exceed that of the same period of previous years.

As many as three typhoons could significantly impact China this month, the administration said. The storms are predicted to mainly affect the nation's east and coastal areas in the south.

The administration warned of natural disasters, including flooding, rainstorms, drought and wildfires.
