The Politburo chief of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), Ismail Haniyeh, had a phone conversation with Lebanese caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati regarding the situation of clashes in Lebanon's Palestinian refugee camp, the movement said on Thursday.
Clashes have been occurring since July 29 in southern Lebanon's Ain Al-Helweh refugee camp, which mainly houses Palestinians. So far, 12 people have been killed, and over 2,000 individuals have escaped.
According to media reports on Thursday, Haniyeh also exchanged views on the matter with Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, urging him to do his best to stop the deadly clashes between Palestinian factions in the densely populated refugee camp.
