At least 14 people were wounded after a man drove a car onto a pedestrian walkway and went on a stabbing rampage at a department store in Seongnam, South Korea's Gyeonggi Province, Yonhap reported Thursday.
Among them, five pedestrians were wounded on the sidewalk, while nine people sustained injuries as the suspect brandished a deadly weapon over 50 cm long randomly against passersby on the first and second floors of a department store.
According to Yonhap, a woman in her 60s is now in critical condition, and 12 people sustained serious injuries.
The suspect, 23, was apprehended by police, though his motive remains unclear. Yonhap said the suspect is employed in the delivery industry, citing sources.
