Officers and soldiers from the Chinese People's Armed Police Force (PAP) and People's Liberation Army (PLA) have been deployed to the flood-hit parts of Beijing.

Persistent heavy rains brought by Typhoon Doksuri triggered devastating floods in the city, and even parts of neighboring Hebei Province, over the past few days.

As of 10 a.m. on August 3, a total of 1,462 people had been evacuated to safety, with eight tonnes of necessities delivered to them. At present, flood relief operations are still going on in the flood-hit areas.
