The deal comes after many high-profile visits by American officials to Beijing meant to thaw out the icy relations between the two sides. Professor of History at American University Peter Kuznick says the U.S. considers China as the main threat and seeks to maintain global dominance by defeating China, but its militarization strategy in the Pacific is "dangerous and could potentially lead to war" as it puts China in a defensive position and threatens its core interests.
