Soldiers of the Chinese People's Armed Police Force walked 6 kilometers to deliver urgent supplies to residents in Beijing's flood-hit Mentougou District on August 3. In the district's Wangping Town, some roads were cut off by floods or blocked by sludge and debris. Soldiers had to walk through those damaged roads in order to send necessities to over 2,600 residents who were evacuated to a local elementary school in Datai Subdistrict. At around 3:00 p.m., 176 soldiers headed to the elementary school, each carrying over 25 kilograms of supplies such as food, clothes and medicine.
