Authorities in China's northern provinces have raised emergency response as heavy rainfall continues to batter the region. Li Chao, professor at the School of Geographic Sciences at East China Normal University, says the local governments should enhance extreme weather forecasting and monitoring to better prepare for more potential floodings.
