As the host city of 31st FISU World University Games, Chengdu in southwest China's Sichuan Province has shored up power supply for the sports event, with power supply capacity increasing from 16.5 million kilowatts last year to 18.2 million kilowatts at present. A power supply command-and-dispatch center for the Chengdu Universiade began its operations in June. It monitors in real time electricity consumption data for a whole bunch of equipment that are responsible for supplying power to the event.
