Iwaki City, located on the southern coast of Fukushima Prefecture in Japan, is a three-hour drive from Tokyo. The city has 60 kilometers of coastline facing the Pacific Ocean, once a top destination for surfing in Japan. However, after the nuclear accident, crowds are now gone forever, even during peak tourist season. News of discharging the nuclear-contaminated water into the sea has brought much anxiety to local people.
