Athletics, rowing, tennis and basketball concluded their competitions at the 31st International University Sports Federation (FISU) World University Games on Sunday, during which Team China continued to top the medal table.

Chinese runners triumphed in men's and women's 4X100m relay events, while Turkish athletes bagged three titles in men's, women's team, and men's team half marathon in Chengdu, southwest China's Sichuan Province.

In rowing, Chinese rowers pocketed four out of 15 gold medals on offer, along with two silver and four bronze medals.

Also, Team China defeated Team Japan 29-27, 29-27, and 25-22 in three straight sets to win the women's volleyball crown.

"The fans gave us a lot support when we were not performing well," China's head coach Zhao Yong said.

"Our players are young and have the potential to grow, and I am very satisfied with the team's performances as the team did not have a very long-time preparation period for the FISU Games," he added.

In swimming, China's Qin Haiyang competed for his hat-trick victories in breaststroke events.

He took the 50m breaststroke title on Sunday, after winning the 100m on August 2 and 200m on August 4.

A total of 46 gold medals were attained on Sunday.
