The Syrian information ministry said Monday that explosions were heard in the vicinity of capital Damascus as air defenses responded to an aggression, which state media attributed to Israel.
"At 2:20 a.m. (2320 GMT Sunday), the Israeli enemy carried out an air attack from the direction of the occupied Syrian Golan, targeting areas in the vicinity of Damascus," state news agency SANA reported, adding that four Syrian soldiers were killed and four others wounded along with unspecified material damage.
The report said Syrian air defenses intercepted some of the missiles.
Israel has not responded to the accusation yet.
