The Chinese Finance Ministry and Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs on Tuesday allocated 732 million yuan (around $101.4 million) to nine Chinese provincial-level regions for urgent agricultural flood control and disaster relief work, and to support post-disaster agricultural production.

Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shanxi, Inner Mongolia, Jilin, Heilongjiang in north China, as well as the coastal provinces of Zhejiang and Fujian in the country's east, will receive the funding.

Beidahuang Group, one of China's major agricultural and agribusiness groups, which is based in Heilongjiang Province, will also receive funds.

According to to the authorities, appropriate subsidies will be applied to purchases of agricultural materials such as seeds, seedlings, fertilizers, pesticides and operational services to resume agricultural production, and to repairs of damaged agricultural production facilities.

Record-breaking rains brought by Typhoon Doksuri have hit northern China, damaging crops and agricultural production facilities and leading to flooding in cities.
