Envoys from 25 countries, including Dominica, Myanmar, Iran, Samoa and Surinam, said they didn't see the so-called "forced labor" and "genocide" in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region after their visit there from July 31 to August 4, at the invitation of China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The envoys went to the regional capital Urumqi and prefectures of Kashgar and Aksu, and visited Kashgar Old City, mosques, Islamic institutes, museums, and agricultural companies.

According to the Chinese foreign ministry on Wednesday, the delegation witnessed the daily life of the local people, experienced the diverse culture, and observed the development of the local economy and efforts by the Chinese government to fight against terrorism and extremism.

"Their general impressions about Xinjiang are that 'it's very beautiful,' 'people there are very kind,' 'the economy is very dynamic,' and 'every stop is impressive'," said the ministry.

The envoys agreed that the Chinese government has provided a safe and stable environment for the local people, the society is culturally diversified and economically dynamic, and they didn't see "forced labor" in Xinjiang where the agriculture industry, including the cotton-picking industry, has already used advanced machines and equipment.

"The real situation in Xinjiang is completely inconsistent with lies fabricated by some Western media," said the ministry, adding the "genocide" and "forced labor" reports by them are "absurd lies" and try to "smear" China.

"China sincerely welcomes friends from all over the world to visit Xinjiang and experience the beauty, harmony and development of the region," said the ministry.
