A sudden surge flood claimed seven lives in the Longxi River of southwest China's Sichuan Province. The accident occurred at about 10 a.m. near an embankment where more than 10 people were swept away by an unexpected tide of water. Local public security, fire, and other departments continue their search and rescue efforts; four others have been rescued so far. The cause of the deluge of water is under investigation.
