Sixteen-year-old Kelsangya, raised on Nagchu's grasslands, began riding horses at the age of 5, once even placing second in the Nagchu Horse-Racing Festival. Just recently, he decided to start training some of the horses from the 100 or so that live on the family farm.

In the upcoming Horse-Racing Festival, three of his family's horses have qualified for the grand finale, while another seven have qualified for the competitive 8-kilometer long-distance race.
