International badminton's flagship event, the World Tour Finals, will be held in Hangzhou, eastern China's Zhejiang Province, for four years straight starting in 2023, confirmed the sport's global governing body on Wednesday.

"Hangzhou, with its superb sporting infrastructure and experience in staging elite international events, is an ideal host for our finals," said Badminton World Federation (BWF) Secretary General Thomas Lund.

The 2023 edition of the season-ending finale is scheduled to take place from December 13 to 17 and will feature the top eight contenders from each category.

Chinese shuttlers won three titles out of five in last year's finals, including Liu Yuchen and Ou Xuanyi in the men's doubles, Chen Qingchen and Jia Yifan in the women's doubles, and Zheng Siwei and Huang Yaqiong in the mixed doubles.
