Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi is visiting Singapore, Malaysia and Cambodia from Thursday until Sunday. Wang is expected to seek deeper economic cooperation with the three Southeast Asian countries during his visit. They're active partners in the Belt and Road Initiative which marks its 10th anniversary this year. Trade between China and other Belt and Road countries stood at $964 billion in the first half of this year, up 9.8 percent year on year.

On Wednesday, China's Foreign Ministry said China's relations with Singapore, Malaysia and Cambodia have maintained a sound momentum of growth. A spokesman said China hoped the visit would boost strategic communication.
