Haruo Ono lives in Shinchi Town in the northern part of Fukushima. His family has made a living from fishing for generations. Ono is already in his 70s, but he still goes fishing with his three sons every week. Living by the ocean for his whole life, Ono often says that the ocean is a huge living being, and it is also the lifeline of the local fishermen. The Japanese government and Tokyo Electric Power Company have repeatedly emphasized that the purpose of discharging nuclear-contaminated water into the ocean is to ensure the progress of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant's decommissioning and to ensure the revival of Fukushima. But in Ono's view, such a statement is meaningless.
