Qinghai Lake is China's largest inland saltwater lake. It is situated approximately 150 kilometers away from the provincial capital of Xining in Qinghai Province. Covering an area of more than 4,600 square kilometers, the lake's surface lies at an altitude of about 3,200 meters, with an average depth of 18 meters and a shoreline extending about 360 kilometers.

Nestled in the northeastern part of the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau, Qinghai Lake is renowned as the "Most Beautiful Lake in China." Thanks to an improved ecological environment in recent years, herds of cattle and sheep graze by the shores of Qinghai Lake.
